Position Summary

This is a full time position. All travel expenses are paid/reimbursed. Travel is Monday-Friday (weekends at home)

Posted Salary Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Traveling Director of Nursing (DON) will travel as needed to client skilled nursing centers to assist as Interim Director of Nursing. This is a great opportunity to share your clinical knowledge, put systems in place and train new Directors of Nursing.  A successful candidate is/will:

  • Responsible for the effective overall management of the Nursing Department on a temporary basis in the assigned region/facility.
  • Work with other disciplines to provide quality care to all patients/residents in facility.
  • Responsible for assisting assigned facility to comply with appropriate state, federal guidelines/regulations, in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Work with all facility departments to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating patient centered programming.
  • Assist facilities with the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, director and motivator
  • Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a long term care environment
  • Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) , BSN preferred with a valid RN license
  • Must be able to travel extensively by air and automobile. Facilities located in multiple states – overnight travel will be required
  • Reliable transportation required
